Top 10 Bravest Animals In The Animal Kingdom

In the animal kingdom, braveness is not determined by size, weight or strength. It is determined by being able to stand your grounds and fight for what is yours even against animals bigger and stronger than you.  Animals have many defense mechanisms that protect them when they feel threghtened. 

Those animals who were thought of as bravest, are not really the bravest. The following list of top 30 bravest animals will send a chill down your spin. The first on the list will shock you. 

All the animals in the list will be from the Guinness records.

Before we jump into the list, let me ask, can a small animal be braver than a bigger and stronger animal?

Read this whole post, you will realise the amazing thing among animals Example: the strongest is not the bravest, the fiercest is not the strongest, the fastest is not the biggest or strongest and so. No two animals can be the best in all aspects. For some animals the best defense is a good offense. When these animals are in danger, their first instinct is to fight back fear is not an option for these animals i i wi list below.

10). Wolverine

Wolverines are very fearless, when they fight, they do not care wehther they are hurt, they fight to the death till their opponent accepts defeat. They have been seen on many occasions taken on larger animals like Jaguars, leopards and chitahs

9). Fire Ants

Fire ants are very tiny insects who measure around 0.079 to 0.25 inches long. Their small size makes them difficult to spot from a distance. They are known to attack any prey or predator who is a threat or food. They kill by bitting and stinging their prays and inject them with toxic venom.

8). Tigers

Their heights range from 6.5 to 13 feets long and they can weigh up to 680 pounds. Tigers are the largest wild cats in the world and they are capable of killing their prey with just one bite. When they feel threghtened, they don't leave without a fight

7). Hippos

Hippos are deadly creatures though they are herbivores, they are very aggressive and deadly. When they are in the water, even a hungry lion dare not attack. Hippos are known to attack and kill animals who come close to their territory including humans. Research has shown that hippos kill up to 500 humans per year.

6). Nile Crocodiles

All Crocodile species are tough and fierce but non is as touph as the Nile Crocodile. They weigh up to 1800 pounds and measure up to 20 feet long. They are known for being very aggressive and they frequently attack animals including humans.

Other animals attack mostly when they feel threghtened or hungry but Nile Crocodiles attack every time any animal or human gets too close to his territory.

5). Cape Buffaloes

The Cape Buffalo is the largest African buffalo specie and weigh up to 2000 pounds with a heights up to 8.5 feet. Buffalo are very fearless , they attack lions, tigers, leopards and even humans. They are nicknamed "The black death" and they never give up even when wounded, they fight to the death.

4) Barracudas

Barracudas can grow up to 5 feet long and they have sharp teeth that look like fangs. They are known to attack entire schools of fish and even attack, kill and feed on large aquatic animals like Dolphins. Barracudas also attack humans, Sea lions and Penguins

3). Komodo dragon

Komodo dragons can be found in the Islands of Indonesia and it has no natural predators. And because of that, it has evolved to be fearless. Komodo dragons attack any animal on sight for food or to protect their territory.

2). Lions

Lions are about 5.2 to 6.9 feet long with weights ranging from 260 to 496 pounds. It is no news that lions are the fiercest animals in the jungle. They fear no animal. When they are hungry, they target large and powerful preys such as elephants, buffaloes, and even hippopotamus. In the jungle, no animal dare attack a lion except for some very brave animals like Honey badgers and Hyenas.

Hyenas are not in the list because they are mostly brave only when they are starving.

1) Honey badgers

Have you ever watched the cartoon called the lions guard, if you have, when they said bonga the honey badger was the bravest, it wasn't a joke at all. Even the Guinness records have declared that honey badgers are the bravest animals in the world. Honey badgers may not look scary because of their size and cute looks but don't be fooled by their appearance. They will attack any and every animal that makes them feel threghtened including larger animals like Lions, Leopards, Crocodiles etc. They generally have a tough skin which is resistant to scratches and bites. They are also immune to toxic venom. When the worst comes to the worst, honey badgers produce smelly liquids which drives his opponents away.
